Greenhill B&B is located at the rear of St Muredach’s Cathedral, Cathedral Close, which is a turn off Cathedral Road in Ballina, Co. Mayo. The map at the bottom of this page shows our location.

Ballina is the largest town in North Mayo is midway between Donegal town to the north, and Galway city and Clifden to the south. The town is favourably located on the banks of the world famous River Moy, one of the finest salmon fishing rivers in Europe. In 2008 Ballina , was  officially launched as the salmon capital of Ireland in recognition as the most prolific salmon river in Ireland and was therefore recognised as an area of excellence. From the young to the old every taste is catered for in Ballina; .The town has a very lively entertainment scene with ample choice when it comes to eating out , and hitting the town. A long   standing   reputation   for being a great place to eat out, the town has a wide mix of restaurants serving   Irish, European,,and   Asian cuisine. ANNUAL SALMON FESTIVAL
The annual   and  hugely successful  salmon festival takes place in mid July every year. The week long event is now ranked as one of the most successful festivals in Ireland. The town becomes a hive of activity during the festival where the,   family  centered  programme has something for all ages. Herritage  Day is one of the highlights of the festival where the town steps back in time. The fireworks display is one of the most spectacular you are likely to see anywhere.
